A native North Carolinian, Ken was born on the coast and relocated to the mountains in 2014 to further enjoy all that the outdoors of North Carolina has to offer. Keeping true to his Coastal Carolina roots, Ken attended the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Ken went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University in August 2003 and a Masters in Health Sciences from Duke University.
In 2003, Ken achieved certification as a physician assistant from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. In 2004, through clinical practice in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), Ken discovered a special interest for pain management. After spending nearly a decade in PM&R, Ken transitioned to a clinical practice with an anesthesiology-based, interventional pain management approach, where he remains at present.
Throughout his clinical experience, Ken has maintained proficiency in current pain management trends and is committed to leveraging appropriate multidisciplinary pain management approaches, which are tailored to each patient’s pain and individual goals for functional improvement. In his free time he enjoys the outdoor activities including hiking, camping, ATV and Jeep trail adventures with his wife and three boys.
