I have enjoyed working Kelly Smiley. She is concerned about my emotional, physical, and spiritual health. We had some differences and to her credit, we were able to discuss them, and I have a greater appreciation for her as a DrShow more in these moments. She listens to my concerns, asks good questions, and explains why she is prescribing meds or what other alternatives, to meds, etc. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking psychiatric help.
I love the way Kelley interacts with me on every level. I am a long timer of Magnolia. I've been receiving service for 7/8 years. Kelley is the best therapist for me.

Kelly Smiley, ARNP?
Kelly Smiley, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a specialization in psychiatry. She sees patients at Magnolia Medical Group, which has locations in Denver and Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Kelly graduated with her MSN from the University of Miami in 2010, having obtained her accelerated BSN in 2005 from the same university. She began her nursing career in an intensive/critical care unit. Prior to nursing, she obtained a BA in Spanish literature from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1999. Upon completion of her MS, Kelly returned to Colorado, where she'd grown up, to begin her family and professional NP career.
Kelly began her NP career serving nearly six years as a primary care provider and clinic manager of a non-profit federally qualified health center providing free integrated medical, behavioral health, dental, and social services to Native American and Alaska Natives of all ages. She spent one year in geriatric medicine before specializing in psychiatric, mental health, and addiction medicine in 2019.
Kelly's approach is authentic, personable, and holistic. She values getting to know her patients on a personal level, ensuring her clients gain a full understanding of their health issues, and empowering them to collaboratively manage their health conditions and outcomes with her. She prioritizes finding the root cause of one's health problems, prioritizing each client's understanding of their foundational needs to promote their health and well-being.
Kelly's goal for clients is to thrive, not "just exist" or "get by." The foundation of her approach is achieving stability in three vital areas of life - work, play, and love. Her goal is to aid clients in achieving success and help them balance the three elements of life that are necessary to thrive - finding purpose in life, ensuring one's self-care and interests are actively enjoyed, and ensuring that one has sufficient social support. She does not "push" medications, is quite conservative regarding prescribing controlled substances, avoids polypharmacy/overmedicating, proactively works with clients towards goals of overcoming dependence on prescribed medications; she does recommend appropriate medication management when appropriate and/or necessary to assist one in achieving stability of symptoms.
Kelly is a first-generation American and former expatriate who's experienced first-hand the unique stressors associated with emigrating to a foreign land, which has helped guide her culturally competent approach to work. She's a world traveler who's lived in Denmark, Costa Rica, and Spain and is a Miami native. Kelly moved to Denver at age 12 and considers this to be her true "hometown." She lived in Lake Tahoe before moving to Colorado, spending many days after school and on weekends training on the slopes, ultimately becoming a ski and snowboard instructor at Breckenridge/Vail Resorts. She's a former long-distance runner, an avid gardener, loves reading just about anything, and she's multilingual - she speaks conversational Danish and Spanish, and she understands basic Norwegian, Italian, and Portuguese.
When not working, Kelly enjoys spending time with her daughter, husband, and extended family and friends. She's also got a soft spot for animals, currently with three rescues at home.

Kelly is great, she makes me feel comfortable and offers great advice and actually pays attention to what I tell her. I am so grateful to have found her!
she's very understanding and caring , i come to the center for her. She great I will continue to come to see here
didn't feel rushed. good to talk to someone in a position who knows what i'm going through.
usually I have a hard time finding therapy bc my shit is real and scary, so I get it when opening up , it is intimidating cuz I carry alot of heavy truths. she was stoic , she was capable , she didn't break or hesitate, she stayed strong and professional. I was mighty impressed. thank you.
Kelly is the absolute best psychiatrist I have ever met/seen,she cares about you genuinely and she is there to help you sincerely, Magnolia has been like a blessing to me and I would not have been able to go on this recovery journey without Kelly and my peer support counselors Sam and Sarah! This place is really there to help and is the best place for treatment, it really was a life changing experience when I went to Magnolia, I am so thankful to the staff and everyone at magnolia, I'd truly recommend Magnolia to anyone seeking treatment, they are there to help and they care about what they do!
She has a great bedside manner, easy going and she is so good that I now trust her and anyone she recommends . Ask for Kelly smiley she loves what she does, that's what makes her warm and good.
Absolutely the best doctors office I've been to! Everyone is so kind and friendly. It is a very calm and welcoming environment. The doctor I met with was absolutely fabulous. I felt comfortable to open up about things I've never talked about before. I feel great about the help I'm getting from everyone at Magnolia.
Kelly is an amazing person, she has been the best experience in my mental health history. She listens, she understands, she gives me the benefit of the doubt which most of my previous Drs just treated me like an addict. She's the best and I'm so happy she came to magnolia she's improved my life tremendously. I always look forward to our visits.
