Julia Gabriel (she/her) is a family nurse practitioner and owner of Old Greenbelt Family Health located in Greenbelt, Maryland. She provides high-quality care to patients, regardless of legal status, language, gender presentation, body size, and ability to pay.
Julia grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland, and attended Blair High School. In 2008, she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA graduating magna cum laude.
Before pursuing a career in healthcare, Julia worked for over three years as an investigator for the Children’s Law Center, representing children in DC’s foster care system.
In 2014, she received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from The George Washington University’s accelerated program in Washington, DC.
Julia worked for over four years at Washington Hospital Center as a registered nurse. As a nurse, she worked with high-risk pregnant women and newborns in the Postpartum, Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), and Labor and Delivery departments. She then received her Master’s degree in nursing from Walden University as a family nurse practitioner.
Julia worked as a provider at a busy urgent and primary care clinic in Langley Park, Maryland, during the pandemic. She served a predominantly Spanish-speaking patient population with complex medical issues due to a lack of access to care.
As a provider, she also works with the LGBTQIA population to provide gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy.
Julia decided to open her clinic in Greenbelt, Maryland, to provide excellent service to the community. She greatly enjoys her work and is happy to be here!

Ms. Gabriel & her assistant stayed busy caring for multiple patients, yet I was gratified how personable each was: I felt like they were focused on providing a primary-care experience that was professional yet couched to put me at ease. I never felt like their time with me was rushed or "on a timer." To all my questions they provided each with an answer.
I was able to address the issues concerning me, get treatment as well as a referral, and for that I'm grateful.
