Joy Carter, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN who provides outstanding care to women of all ages at Women’s Health Services. With more than 10 years of clinical experience, Dr. Carter provides a wide array of women’s health services to the communities of Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas.
Dr. Carter is dedicated to patient education and strives to empower her patients to make informed decisions about their personal health. She offers warm, compassionate care during pregnancy and for conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, uterine descensus, abnormal bleeding, and menopause.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Dr. Carter earned a Master of Science in biological science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She then earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Carter is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and she is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She and her husband, Brian, have three children. In her leisure time, she enjoys knitting and outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.

I love going to this Dr office. I never wait long. Everyone is so friendly. Dr. Carter is a great Dr. she always listen to me and never rush me off or ignore anything I say. She always have a pretty smile on her face. Very great Dr.

I had to reschedule my appointment and actually the only way to schedule was through the website. I kept getting text messsges about scheduling, but following that link led to a site where there were never any dates available. It took me a year to schedule an appointment.
First time meeting Dr. Kuriakose, pretty late into pregnancy (had to switch care providers). It was a quick meeting, but we felt valued and heard as a patient and very comfortable with everyone who handled us from check in to check out. Super excited to finish out this pregnancy with them! Day and night experience so far in comparison to my previous care provider is was seeing.

I had been on the fence about getting an IUD for 7 years because of the fear of the pain associated with the procedure. She put my mind at ease and made sure I was fully informed and prepped to have it done. Her bedside manner is unmatched. I highly recommend her for you OB/GYN needs.

Always a pleasure seeing Dr. Carter! I've been a patient with her for the past 2 years now and the transition has gotten better ever since. It's always comforting to know your doctor is as invested in your health and overall wellbeing as you are. Dr. Carter is always amazing and very knowledgeable of whatever issues that concern me. She has excellent bedside manner when it comes to me. I hope to have another baby after school and if she’s still around of course she’ll be delivering.
