Dr. Opperman is easy going and funny. he likes to take lots of time explaining what he thinks is going on & what he wants to do about it (almost like I'm another dentist!). he's conservative: doing what's necessary without riskingShow more an aggressive over treatment(!) last time we were able to use just one dose of anesthetic (small cavity near root)... the doctor said tooth would hurt thru the following day. but when the numbing went away, I felt no pain (even forgot which tooth was worked on that morning!).
Dr Southworth who sold his practice to Dr Opperman was very choosy as to who he wanted to take over… he chose well. Dr Opperman is an excellent dentist and his staff are exceptional as well. Never late and just very talented denShow moretist. I’ve had crowns and a bridge along with some bonding and I couldn’t be happier and feel fortunate to have such a great group to help with my dental care…
Joshua R. Opperman, DMD, is a family dentist serving patients in the Hollywood District of Northeast Portland. He is honored to be the dentist of choice for many families and enjoys getting to know his patients as they grow and thrive.
Education has always played a central role in Dr. Opperman’s life. A Portland native, he chose to remain in the area to complete his dental training at OHSU School of Dentistry. Now in practice for more than a decade, Dr. Opperman continues to pursue additional educational opportunities to stay abreast of the latest developments in dentistry technology and techniques.
Patient education is also a passion of Dr. Opperman’s. He views his role as a partner in the dental health of each patient and is committed to educating those in his care on how to best maintain a healthy smile. Dr. Opperman was excellent in treating me for a tooth that eventually will need a crown. He gave me a new filling where the odontologist left a hole and this allows me to get my insurance to pay for the crown when the new year kicks in. He was very good at explaining everything he was doing and needed to do for my teeth.

My last phase in the implant of 2 lower molers. Every step has been easy, new teeth will be set in 3 weeks. Can't wait!!

the hygienist is calm, concerned, patient & understanding. she seems serious about and dedicated to her job (she's thorough!). definitely top of the line and very much recommended!

Great Service and care.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Opperman for about three years. A good friend has been seeing him for much longer and recommended him and his practice to me. They give very good care here. All of the staff seem knowledgeable and are personable. They’re only open 3 1/2 days a week, so that’s a limitation. But other than that, it’s a very good dentist’s office.
Hands down, the best experience I’ve had with a dentist! They have an incredible team & I can’t recommend them enough!
