He studied Medicine at the University of Chile and received his Physician/Surgeon - Medico-Cirujano degree in 1973. He then remained at the institution to pursue a career in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, where he was Faculty of Medicine, teaching as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology, with emphasis in research in Gastrointestinal Motility.
After publishing several articles, he moved to the United States, where he was accepted as a Research Fellow, with eventual completion of Gastroenterology & Hepatology Fellowship at The University of Southern California - Keck School of Medicine (USC) in 1981.
Dr. Pantoja started his Gastroenterology Private Practice in the Los Angeles area, while teaching Gastrointestinal and Liver disease courses at LAC-USC and attending clinics as Faculty Volunteer Attending.
In his free time Dr. Pantoja enjoys reading, walking and exercising, connecting with his friends and traveling with his wife, Karen, around the world.
