About Dr. John Van Wert, MD, FACOG

At Premier Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. John van Wert is a leading OB/GYN, serving patients in and around the Greater Metro Orlando area in his Maitland, Oviedo, and Lake Mary, Florida offices. Dr. van Wert is a board certified obstetrician and gynecologist who has been practicing for over 30 years. He is a founding member and physician/owner of Premier OB-Gyn. He provides services such as bioidentical hormone replacement, menopause management, vaginal surgery and rejuvenation, and robotic hysterectomies in addition to standard gynecology services.

Dr. van Wert obtained his undergraduate degree at Duke University in North Carolina, his medical degree from Vanderbilt University Medical School in Tennessee and residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. van Wert excels in gynecologic surgery, especially laparoscopic surgery and robotic hysterectomies. He has been named as one of Central Florida’s “Top Doctors” multiple times. Dr. van Wert is a long-standing board certified member of The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Association of Cosmetic Gynecologists.

Dr. van Wert is married to Dr. Anne K. van Wert of Nemours Children’s Primary Care in Maitland and has two children. Both Christopher and Alexandra attended Duke University. Dr. van Wert enjoys multiple outdoor sports including cycling, skiing (snow and water) and sailing, but also loves cooking dinner for his family on a frequent basis.

Dr. van Wert also pursues cosmetic procedures as well. Dr. van Wert has been extensively trained in VASER LipoSelection, Fraxel Laser and Intense Pulsed Light therapies, Non-invasive UltraShape fat removal, and injectables such as Botox, Dysport, Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane. He continues to have a very active Gynecology and Surgery career and welcomes all new patients to Premier, where our providers strive to care for patients in the most technologically advanced, safest and comfortable environment available while maintaining the highest level of professional ethics and expertise.
