Dr. Brendel was born and raised in Wisconsin. He grew up in the Milwaukee area and earned a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Virginia Medical School before returning to Wisconsin to practice medicine.
Dr. Brendel saw a need for pain management in Wisconsin. He recognized that there wasn’t much interaction between doctors and patients in his line of work. He wanted to create a place where he could build strong relationships with patients and care for them as long as they needed. So, in 2003, he founded his own clinic—Interventional Pain Specialists of Wisconsin.
At Interventional Pain Specialists of Wisconsin, Dr. Brendel is dedicated to helping patients find pain relief. He pinpoints and treats the physical source of pain, working to identify compounding issues like stress and lifestyle.
Over time, his practice has grown. He takes complex cases and helps patients facing very serious challenges. Many of his patients have unsuccessfully sought pain relief for years. They turn to Dr. Brendel to get results when other healthcare providers couldn’t help.
For more complex cases, John reaches out to other professionals for a more collaborative approach. Additionally, Dr. Brendel loves to take advantage of the good things in life. He takes great joy in his family, travel, photography, outdoor activities like golf and bowhunting, and simply relaxing by a nice fire.
