John Bollins, DO, is a general surgeon and the owner of Advanced Surgical Associates of Northern Minnesota in Hibbing, Duluth, and Ely, Minnesota.
Dr. Bollins earned his medical degree and completed his surgical residency at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens and Columbus, Ohio. He then completed his surgical critical care fellowship at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.
Dr. Bollins has served as a trauma critical care surgeon and general surgeon at Duluth hospitals since 2007. During that time, he served as pediatric trauma director and chief of general surgery. He focuses on excelling both in traditional and robotic surgery and has accumulated many years of robotic experience.

I was referred t o Dr.Bollins by my primary care Dr. Dr.Bollins AND his surgical staff are by far to me one of the greatest experience I've had. Very personal and caring folks There,I myself hade a surgery around 10 yrs ago an Dr.Bollins past surgery is still unremarkable !! Now with the recent availability to myself in Hibbing and local clinics to go to, I would refer him and his wide variety of options !!! He is the the Surgeon I would Recommend !!!! Got to the point of attack of my problems,and made a better and safer way to do the surgery, didn’t want to do it at the time, because Dr.thought it was more of a surgery center job, to me it seemed he wanted to do it right the 1st time in a safer way, and I respect that.

I had a leg wound that just wouldn’t heal after 6 months of unsuccessful wound care treatments at another clinic. I sought a second opinion from Dr.Bollins and his staff who got the healing process started and then referred me to a wound care specialist who then used various treatments to continue the healing process. After 5 months my leg wound is healed up.
Even tho I currently did not meet the criteria to have my surgery done at this time, I do really value the information and opinion that Dr Bollins gave me, and I will definitely follow up in the future for my procedure with him.

Dr Bollins was very friendly and professional. He explained everything to me in great detail and answered all my questions. His office staff were wonderful, helping me with insurance problems and setting me set up with an appointment for surgery only 12 days after my initial office visit.
