Jochen P. Pechak, DDS, MSD, is a Periodontist at Perio & Implant Center of Monterey Bay and Silicon Valley, with locations in Sunnyvale and Monterey, California.
Originally from Germany, Dr. Pechak first began his path toward a career in medicine by enrolling at the University of Padova School of Medicine in Italy in 1987. He later transferred to Ludwig‑Maximilian‑University School of Medicine in Munich, Germany, where he completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1994. After graduation, he practiced dentistry for several years in Munich before being accepted into a prestigious program as one of only three international students in a three-year postdoctoral program in periodontics and implantology at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Pechak received his specialty certificate in periodontics and a Master of Science in Periodontics from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, in 2000, graduating top of his class. Upon graduation, he was invited to join the full-time faculty as a clinical instructor at the dental school, and he was later invited to address the alumni of Tufts School of Dental Medicine in September 2009.
Along with his board certification in periodontics and dental implant surgery, Dr. Pechak is certified in advanced technologies utilizing plasma technology, as well as dental lasers. One of his passions is integration of virtual reality to improve the precision of dental implant placement with guided surgery which means shorter appointments and eliminates guesswork. He has also published several articles in dental journals, and lectured to many audiences around the world. Dr. Pechak’s research was also presented at a conference American Academy of Periodontology and Academy of Osseointegration.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, Academy of Osseointegration, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Monterey Bay Dental Society, Mid‑Peninsula Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club.
Dr. Pechak remains at the forefront of leveraging minimally invasive utilizing state-of-the art technology in his field. He was recognized on the front cover of The Monterey County Herald in 2010 for his breakthrough technology utilizing plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF). He is also one of few board-certified periodontists using an FDA-approved laser periodontal therapy (known as LANAP laser treatment) in Monterey County.
Committed to the pursuit of higher education, Dr. Pechak is the founder and director of the Monterey Bay-Salinas Study Club, a local forum of Monterey County dental professionals that focuses on raising the level of dental care and expertise in the community. Dr. Pechak lives with his wife and their beautiful twin boys in the Monterey Bay, California.

I love the short wait times. dr pechak doesn't beat around the bush. he comes straight to the point and gets right down to business fixing the problem. he is very good at what he does. I highly recommend him.
Very friendly and professionally very competent and complete
Dr. Pechak showed great patience, tact, and skill working with my 95 year old mother. She has dementia and is a particularly challenging dental patient. He was both kind and respectful in his interaction with her and she is surprisingly eager to come back for another visit.

Having broken a molar eating my favorite candy I knew the route would be one of two… extraction and implant, but so wanted to save my tooth…my general dentist started the crown prep, once the break was accessed I was referred to Dr Pechak. I opted for the first available which to my surprise and delight was the next morning. I arrived in Sunnyvale to a modern, high tech office, Dr. Pechak is a wonderful, highly skilled, and very professional, I knew I was in good hands. He explained to me what he would do, in order to save my tooth, his team of RDA’s were so upbeat and welcoming I was at ease. I returned a week later for suture removal to the Monterey office, so happy to meet with the same upbeat, professional, and respectful RDA!! What a gem she is!! Having been in the dental field for many years I knew what crown lengthening entailed and I was a ball of stress, and nerves. All that was put to rest by a true professional in his speciality, Dr. Pechak. Thank you ALL!!

Outstanding professional care
Think of the German word UBER as being a combination of ULTRA and SUPER, and even with a hint of TRANSCENDING.. That very idea perfectly applies to my most recent visit to Dr. Jochen Pechak's Monterey Perio and Implant Center. I have implants in all four corners of my mouth, and meanwhile, age-wise, I'm right about one-third as old as the United States of America. I went in with an implant prophylaxis problem and I walked out problem-free. I couldn't be happier or more satisfied and grateful. I don't know what the new teeth-cleaning equipment is called that Dr. Pechak has purchased, but trust me, it is an experience; it is a cut above, it is to-die-for, it is efficacious, and it is a teeth & gum cleaning, plaque eradicating mouth flusher beyond description. State-of-the-art equipment used by Dr. Pechak's professional team unequivocally and hugely raises the level of dental and oral surgery service. I most-strongly recommend this talented, smooth, congenial and uber-efficient team for any and all oral callings and issues. They have my highest recommendation.

This Doctor and his staff were excellent! I came to see this Dr Pechak for a second opinion after receiving subpar treatment by another local oral surgeon. Dr Pechak was very understanding, has good bedside manner and is fairly priced for the services he performs. The office staff was great at answering the concerns I had, making sure my needs we met. I will definitely be returning to this office for any future oral surgery needs my family may have.
