Joan Bergstrom, MD, FACOG, MBA, is the founder of Women’s Health Services. With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Bergstrom was the first female OB/GYN to serve the Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas, communities. Dr. Bergstrom delivers excellent care for women at all stages of life with compassion, warmth, and respect.
Patients trust Dr. Bergstrom for the treatment of a range of conditions, including uterine fibroids and polyps, urinary incontinence, abnormal bleeding, vaginal and uterine prolapse, and more. An expert gynecologic surgeon, she is skilled at a wide range of surgical procedures, such as vaginal hysterectomies, vaginal prolapse repairs, and bladder suspensions
Dr. Bergstrom went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. In 2012, she became the first woman to serve as chief of staff at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital in Arlington.
Dr. Bergstrom is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and she is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In her leisure time, she enjoys cooking for her family and playing Scrabble with her daughters.

Dr. Bergstrom aways greets you and inquires about how you are doing. She asks you if you have any questions and takes the time to answer them. I have been with her for 9 years, you couldn’t ask for a better doctor!
I had to reschedule my appointment and actually the only way to schedule was through the website. I kept getting text messsges about scheduling, but following that link led to a site where there were never any dates available. It took me a year to schedule an appointment.
Maybe she does care, but I was giving this rating not only because of the front desk letting the phone ring a numerous amount of times, but just the vibe that I felt like Dr. Bergstrom was tired and wanted to be done for the day. She did give some good advice that I did listen to. I have yet to meet a doctor that follows up with you after the appointment and makes you feel like you matter.
First time meeting Dr. Kuriakose, pretty late into pregnancy (had to switch care providers). It was a quick meeting, but we felt valued and heard as a patient and very comfortable with everyone who handled us from check in to check out. Super excited to finish out this pregnancy with them! Day and night experience so far in comparison to my previous care provider is was seeing.
Dr. Kuriakose is incredibly kind, professional and consistently shows genuine care whenever I have a concern.

Check in was quick and appt time was good. I felt time with doctor was rushed . Also many of us older gals have not had any intrusions in that area for many years so please take your time.
I've been seeing Dr. Bergstrom for about 11 years now and have had nothing but fantastic experiences. Even though I tend to only see her once a year, she always remembers me and even tends to remember parts about our short conversations from previous visits. I never feel rushed and can tell she is really listening to me. Her exams are always extremely quick yet still extremely gentle, which has really helped alleviate a lot of my anxiety with doctor visits. I recommend her and her practice to anyone looking for a new obgyn.
