Dr. Chiu’s compassionate, caring personality makes him a favorite among patients seeking treatment for chronic pain from falls, auto accidents, and degenerative diseases.
Dr. Chiu is double board-certified in Pain Management and Anesthesia by the American Board of Anesthesiology, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also part of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
In addition to his work at The Painless Center, Dr. Chiu serves as the director of the Pain Management Division and Anesthesia Medical Education at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He is also an active faculty member at the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey.
While pursuing his medical degree, Dr. Chiu spent time at the world-renowned Texas Tech International Grace Clinic’s Pain Management Center in Lubbock, Texas. Dr. Chiu’s rotations there sparked his interest in interventional pain management.
Dr. Chiu later completed an internship at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens and went on to finish his anesthesiology residency at Rutgers University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey. For his fellowship training, Dr. Chiu studied at the prestigious John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago.
At The Painless Center, Dr. Chiu offers a variety of methods for relieving chronic pain from injury or illness and creates custom treatment plans to accommodate each patient’s unique health needs. For the convenience of his patients, Dr. Chiu and his staff speak fluent English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese.

I was very pleased with my first visit to your office..
My fist time going to see Dr Chiu, the front desk staff was friendly and polite. The Medical Assistant was polite and knowledgeable answered questions she could. The NP and Dr Chiu put me at ease explained my condition and how they would treat it. Well I’m scheduled, nervous didn’t have epidurals with my kids so I’m anxious and scared at the same time . Hope it works. Would highly recommend.

Awesome., he was guiding the patient if it’s pressured or painful., using the x-ray following very carefully as he was doing surgery for his own body. Fully aware of what he’s doing. Very confident and guiding the patient to calm. Very gentlemanly. I fully recommend Dr.chiu. I was very impressed and thanked him.
I was in severe pain in my lower back, and dr. Chiu gave injection on the site in his office with anesthesia. I wasn't so bad. I feel better hopefully until l return in 2 weeks.
