I was pleasantly surprised with Dr. Wells. Most practices are understaffed, never answer the phone and ultimately the quality of care becomes affected. From my check in until my check out the process was smooth. The doctor was verShow morey informative and answered all of my questions. I was able to speak with the referral coordinator before I left and understood how I would be able to assist in this process. Most of all I liked their process of educating you along the way. I would most definitely refer Dr. Wells and his staff.

Dr. James Wells joined our elite team of providers in July 2023, bringing with him over 40 years of education, training, and experience.
After graduating with his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Wells began practicing Family Medicine at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. He eventually moved to Selma Family Health Care, where he continued to practice Family Medicine, until he opened his own private practice, J. Darrick Wells MD, Inc., in 1996. Dr Wells continued to provide Family Medical Care for 22 years, before transitioning into the Urgent Care field of medicine.
Dr. Wells’ awards are numerous and extensive, including: the Richard D Steed Scholar Award, the All-Academic Award, the Associated Press Honorable-Mention, & Phi Beta Kappa. During his college years, he was the Team Captain for the Rice University Football team, he received the American Spirit award, the George R. Brown Most Valuable Receiver award, the All-Southwest Conference Receiver award, and was inducted into the Tiger Athletic Hall of Fame.
After becoming a doctor, the leadership positions that he has held are even more copious, including:
Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee, Chairman of the
Performance Improvement committee, Chief of Staff for Selma Community Hospital, Governing Combined Board member of AMC-Hanford and Central Valley General Hospital, Chief of Staff Designee of the Selma Adventist Medical Center, Medical Executive Committee member Adventist Central Valley Medical Staff, Chairman of the Adventist Central Valley Medical Staff Credentials committee, and five (5) different Medical Director positions held.

Dr. Wells made me feel comfortable and explain my situation in detailed and told me my options and what he recommended. He’s very nice and he listens. I recommend Dr. Wells to anybody.

Front desk personnel is very Unprofessional every time I go to an appointment I have a bad experience with the front desk personnel. I have told the doctors as well as the office manager and when I went yesterday, it was the same disrespectful woman. I don’t know why she still works there and they have not fired her this doctors office has a hard time following through. They were supposed to be a lot of referrals as well as medication sent to the pharmacy they have yet to be sent and I have not received a referral and started going to them a year ago 10 out of 10 do not recommend
He is very kind understanding and listens to what you say I enjoy my visits with my doctor and trust him thank you for your care and understanding and taking care of my health

Being a larger person in a wider wheelchair they found a room with a larger door opening for the doctor to be able to treat me. The staff went above and beyond !!
