Dr. James L. Swingler MD, MS, FACOG is in his 37th year of OB/Gyn practice in Peoria, Illinois. He is delighted to be merging his medical practice with Teverbaugh, Croland, and Mueller Ob/Gyn & Associates.
Dr. Swingler earned his BS degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He then earned his MS degree in Microbiology and Molecular Biology at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana as well in 1976. Next, he earned his MD degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. He did his residency training at the University of Illinois at Peoria finishing that in 1984. Since then he has been a professor at the College of Medicine teaching medical students and residents, helping to train the last 35 classes of graduates.
Dr. Swingler is board certified and has been a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1986. He has been a member of the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology since 1982. Dr. Swingler actively helped to establish the Gynecology Laser procedure programs in Peoria in 1984 since he is quite interested in Lasers. Dr. Swingler is also very interested in HPV and abnormal pap smear evaluations and treatment. He also likes to evaluate and treat the various female infections that occur with his strong background in Microbiology.
In his spare time, Dr. Swingler is very involved with Agriculture and gardening. He has 3 grown children and one darling granddaughter.

As she is kind, gentle, and professional, I know I am always in good hands with Dr. Garcia.
She delivered my now 5 month old child and was wonderful throughout the whole experience. Every time I have a visit with her, she really cares about my well being as a whole.
Dr. Garcia is always kind and listens. Seems very caring.
Dr Garcia was wonderful. She explained everything and took her time to make sure I understood what was going on with my health. We then made a plan together and have set those plans in place for future care. She is phenomenal and I recommend anyone to her that is seeking a doctor who takes their time and truly cares for their patients.

Diane is the best!! She is VERY knowledgeable when it comes to women's hormones. My first visit, she had me take a breast cancer assessment & when she learned of my family history with breast cancer she immediately talked to me about taking the blood test for this. Even my family Dr never ever takes to me about that. She genuinely has a ton of care & compassion for her patients. I was very sad to hear today that she is retiring! I wish her well in her journeys & travels.
I’m a 59 yr old woman who had to have a total and complete hysterectomy at the age of 19. Eight yrs ago I shattered my leg and had to have 7 surgeries to fix it. After not having sex for almost a year, when we started back up, the pain was more than I could handle. I didn’t want a sexless life so a friend recommended Diane and I made an appt with her. Not happy she is retiring, but I have to deal w/that too. She has given me a game plan moving forward and I am hopeful to have a non painful sexual experience with my husband again.
The wait time was not good but Dr Garcia was fabulous! I had never met her and she made me feel extremely comfortable! I will be returning for my needs with her! Thank you!
