I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Stephens for a year and five months. Entrusting him with the chronic severe pain I live with 24/7, is the best decision I’ve made. Under his care, he has kept me comfortable and at ease with mShow morey pain. Dr. Stephens and his entire staff are amazing, I am sincerely greeted by Alice, the receptionist with a smile and called by my name asking how I’m doing? Dr. Stephens is always on time, don’t know how he does it. I am blessed to have found Dr. Stephens and his wonderful, caring staff!
From the minute you walk in the staff is very friendly and helpful. The Doctors and nurses are awesome. I have been thru 3 other pain managements and none were as good as Dr. Stephens. We always talk fishing when I see him during Show morethe visit.
James W. Stephens, DO, is an anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain medicine physician at Interventional Pain Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
A native of Anadarko, Oklahoma, Dr. Stephens received his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University (OSU). He attended the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and went on to complete both his anesthesiology residency and interventional pain fellowship at OU Health Sciences Center. He was lucky enough to spend a large portion of his pain fellowship with private practice pain physicians who volunteered their time to educate him.
Dr. Stephens enjoys caring for his patients. His goal is to lessen your pain and figure out why you are in pain. He believes that every pain physician must be an expert diagnostician. In order to be that, you not only have to have excellent medical knowledge, but you also have to listen to your patients.
Dr. Stephens enjoys his specialty and helping patients live happier, healthier lives. He practices the full scope of interventional pain management and has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical treatments for pain as well as injection therapies. Dr. Stephens is a national expert in the minimally invasive treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis. He keeps up with the latest treatments for pain, analyzes them, and implements them in his practice when it is the right choice for his patients. Dr. Stephens enjoys all aspects of practicing medicine, especially reading and researching new ways to help his patients. His goal is always to decrease pain and improve function by utilizing the least invasive method possible.
Besides his medical practice, Dr. Stephens is busy at home, where he enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife and three young children. They enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring their favorite getaway, Beavers Bend State Park.
Dr. Stephens owns Interventional Pain Center and is an owner of Physicians Surgical Center.

This place has been the best ever since I moved back to OK. They are quick to respond and even fit me in when I need something different than reason of being there.
Did not have a long wait, was seen very quickly. personnel were very friendly and professional. I have no complaints except still can’t play the piano!!
My experience with Dr Stephens was a fairly quick procedure to take away or lessen the pain. By the time we left the office the back pain was lessening. Dr Stephens is very easy to talk to and puts you at ease
Visit was on time for my appointment, nurses were very concerned about my condition, Dr James explained things and very helpful to explain pain relief. Very satisfied, would recommend Dr, and whole staff to everyone.

Dr. Stephens is the BEST! He uses a camera to find your problem area, to get Steroid injections, or other options. He did a SI on my lower back to address the Sciatica pain. I would definitely recommend him!!
After the initial shock of the shot , I was ok. Doing fine today. The shot was worth getting rid of the pain.
