Jake Bejarano is a clinical social work intern at Hudson River Care and Counseling. Jake has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from William Paterson University of New Jersey and is currently pursuing a Master's of Social Work at NYU Silver School of Social Work. Jake recently completed a one year internship with South Orange & Maplewood School District where he provided individual and small group counseling to students, ages 7-11 dealing with anxiety, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, family changes, and managing emotions. Despite gaining deep insight into working with children, Jake is interested in expanding his work to adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. Jake values the alliance he shares with his clients and understands how essential this is to promote growth and change. Jake is interested in offering an eclectic approach to therapy by integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a strengths-based perspective.
