Meet Dr. Gowan
A native Houstonian, Dr. Chris Gowan pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin and Houston Baptist University. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1994. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Texas Dental Association and the Greater Houston Dental Society. He is also an active member of the Houston Spear Study Club. Dr. Gowan believes that “perfection is our goal; excellence is our standard.”
As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting, fishing and snow skiing in his spare time. He and his wife, Whitney, have a son attending Texas A&M and another son, an A&M graduate, who is pursuing a career in finance.

Not only did Dr. Gowan see me on new year's eve, he was his usual conservative self in taking the least invasive/expensive approach to my issue; cementing the crown back on my tooth. He and I remain optimistic this treatment will prove to be permanent!

Dr. Gowan is the best dentist I have ever gone to. I wanted a second opinion before starting Invasalign with a different dental practice since it's not offered at Post Oak Dental. He confirmed what I suspected- I was quoted a bunch of unnecessary procedures before I could start. Long story short, he saved me almost $3k! And he did this check up free of charge. His staff is always friendly and accommodating, the dental hygienists do an excellent job cleaning, and Dr. Gowan is just an excellent dentist. Professional, organized, and efficient practice.
