Meet Dr. Wadiwala
Irfan I Wadiwala, DO, is a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon and board-certified general surgeon, providing weight loss surgery and nonsurgical weight loss alternatives to patients at Houston Weight Loss, located in Houston, Texas.
After completing his medical degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude, at the Western University in Pomona, California, Dr. Wadiwala completed general surgical training at Martin Luther King and Arrowhead Regional Medical Center near Los Angeles. He went on to complete a fellowship in laparoscopic bariatric surgery at Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
He has actively participated in various scientific articles and attended several conferences related to morbid obesity surgery and outcomes during his extensive training, and is a member of organizations such as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Accountable Care Organizations, Harris County Medical Society, Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association. Dr. Wadiwala continues to perfect his technique by attending conferences and keeping up to date with all the newest technology.
In practice for over 12 years and formerly the Director of Bariatric Surgery at Cyfair Medical Center, he specializes in the surgical treatment of morbid obesity and has performed thousands of successful bariatric operations with excellent outcomes. Dr. Wadiwala has privileges at several different hospitals in the Houston area such as HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, St. Luke's Health The Vintage Hospital, and Houston Methodist Willowbrook hospital. As a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon he also performs general surgeries which include different types of hernia repairs, gallbladder removal, appendectomies, cyst removals, and other general surgical procedures. Mi esposo lo opere hay y por poco de me muere por un estafilococo q cogio en la operación el medico cada vez q lo atienden le dice q esta bien cuando no era cierto hasta la semana pasada q yo en lo personal le dije q le mandara antibiótico porq esas heridas estaban muy mal, sino lo llevo a mi medico cabecera hoy no estaría contándoles esta experiencia tan mala no lo recomiendo para nada
