Hiral Thakrar, MD, is an allergist and immunologist at Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, LTD, with two locations in Scottsdale and another in Gilbert, Arizona.
She manages adult and pediatric conditions, such as allergies of the nose and skin, hives, asthma, food allergies, and drug allergies. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Allergy and Immunology.
Dr. Thakrar was born and raised in Tanzania, East Africa, and attended the University of California, Los Angeles for her undergraduate studies.
She then pursued her medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. There, she was the Wellness Chief and participated in the Wellness and Integrative Medicine Committee. She completed her fellowship in allergy and immunology at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California.
She is a member of the Western Society of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), and American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She has been a mentor for future aspiring allergists in medical school and residency for the past two years as a Chrysalis mentor for AAAAI.
Dr. Thakrar has conducted her research in Dupilumab and its effects on patch testing for allergic contact dermatitis, alcohol reactivity in AERD, penicillin allergy, epitope binding, and single sequencing with peanut allergy. Her special interests are asthma, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD), food allergies, and contact dermatitis. She takes an integrative medicine approach to all these diseases.
Dr. Thakrar is also the allergy residency director of two residency programs in East Valley. She mentors current residents and fellows in the field of allergy, asthma & immunology. She isnow also the co-director of wellness for residents at the residency programs.
Dr. Thakrar is married and loves to spend time with her two beautiful children. In her free time, she enjoys yoga and meditation, traveling, and hiking, and participating in Indian cultural events.

My daughter arrived for her appointment yeaterday afternoon only to find that I had accidently wrote down the wrong date and time for the appointment. The office staff was extremely nice and understanding. They were able to get her in to see the doctor after a very short wait. The care provided was exceptional and we got the answers we weren't provided from another practice just a shirt time ago.
Honestly one of the best clinic experiences ever. Dr. Thakrar has excellent bedside manner, and this is coming from a hospital/healthcare expert in quality and patient experience. Exceptional visit and experience.
Everything about this office is amazing. The facility is beautiful and very clean. Dr. Thakrar is so nice, thorough and takes the time to listen to her patient. The front office staff was very welcoming and friendly. The nurse was also very sweet. I highly recommend this office!

Kind and professional clinic team. Thorough visit with knowledgable provider who has good bedside manner. It was a bit heartbreaking to see that the recommendation on the after visit summary was simply "lose weight", even though I went in for issues unrelated to my weight and it wasn't discussed during my visit. As soon as I read this in my car, I sobbed the entire way home. It felt like my concerns were not valid and that there could be / only ever is one cause. Even with some validity and the best intentions, it continued to reinforce the gaslighting that the overweight patient population is subjected to by the health care community.

I was referred by another Doctor’s office and I am very impressed. The entire staff is very engaging and personable. They answer questions in a way that makes it easy to understand exactly what is going on. The office is a new build so it is very clean.
Dr Thakrar is a highly intelligent, kind and considerate physician that truly cares for her patients. I was really ill with unknown diagnosis and she figured it out. Thank goodness. Highly recommended.

Professional and super efficient. Always find a way to accommodate you. I had a telehealth appointment in the late morning, the day before Thanksgiving. During the appointment the doctor and I realized I needed an injection of steroids. The doctor arranged for it ,and the receptionist and nurse were waiting for me, as the office was to close at noon. Got my shot and now I will have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you.

The check-in was quick and the doctor saw me promptly. The nursing staff was very attentive. After getting allergy tested, the nurse thoroughly explained all the results to me.

Great customer service
I didn’t receive any treatments today but I met with her and she went over my history and she is going to contact my doctor (dermatologist) and we will go forward from there. My first visit was great, no long wait time to check in and to see the doctor.
