I arrived about 10 minutes late, due to traffic. Was seen very quickly and Dr. Jonna was receptive to a request for him to help me in getting the VA to cover my treatment. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.
Dr Jonna is a great guy and on top of his game. I will not go to any other doctor. He is easy to talk to and he fully explains what is going on and what he will be doing.
Gowtham Jonna, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in retinal and vitreous care at Retina Consultants of Austin, with offices in Austin, Lakeway, Marble Falls, and Round Rock, Texas.
Dr. Jonna received a scholarship from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, to pursue his undergraduate education and graduated with multiple awards for his academic excellence. After graduating with his degree, he went on to complete his medical school training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during his junior and senior years.
He completed an internship at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, engaging in intensive research for retinoblastoma (eye cancer found primarily in children) under the guidance of Dr. David Abramson. Following his internship training, he pursued his residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was elected chief resident. He also received fellowship training in retinal surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Upon completing his studies as a first-year medical student, Dr. Jonna developed a strong fascination with vitreoretinal diseases and has ever since been improving upon his knowledge and expertise of the field.
Since 2017. Dr. Jonna has been providing eye care at Retina Consultants of Austin. He looks forward to providing you with the compassionate and patient-centered care you deserve.

The doctor saw me first thing in the morning after they found a severe injury to my eye. The tests were thorough and he gave me several options. I was very pleased with everyone in the office -they were so nice!!! Thank you for getting me in to see the doctor so quickly!!!
