Interventional pain management specialist, Gary Schwartz, MD, F.A.S.A., is co-owner and primary clinic director at AABP Integrative Pain Care, with offices in the Bensonhurst neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Gary Schwartz currently serves as the Co-Director of AABP Integrative Pain Care and Wellness and the Vice Chair of Pain and Anesthesiology for Maimonides Medical Center. He is dual board certified in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management.
Dr. Schwartz completed an interventional pain management fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine (currently known as the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai) in New York City after completing his anesthesia residency at St. Vincent’s in Manhattan and Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.
He received his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate College of Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Union College.
Dr. Schwartz has been invited to lecture on pain management and regional anesthesia at numerous national and international conferences. He has taught thousands of physicians how to perform innovative pain procedures. He serves leadership roles in national pain management and anesthesia organizations, in addition to numerous publications in high quality medical journals. He is a Delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA) for ASRA Pain Medicine.
He has been awarded a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly’s and New York Magazine numerous times. He is a fellow of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA) and serves as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
Dr. Schwartz has a special interest in spine pain, PRP, Cryo, pain after surgery, and complex nerve issues. He frequently uses an interventional approach to treating pain including epidurals, joint injections, spinal cord, peripheral stimulation, cryoneurolysis, thermal radiofrequency in addition to numerous ultrasound and x-ray guided procedures.
Dr. Schwartz provides an individualized and minimally invasive approach to pain management.
