Dr. Gary Ganiban, MD?
After completing his residency, Dr. Ganiban pursued advanced Fellowship Training in Diseases and Surgery of the Retina and Vitreous at Louisiana State University – New Orleans, where he served as Chief Fellow and as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the Sigma Xi National Research Society, the American Society of Retina Specialists, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and he is a member of the New Orleans Academy of Ophthalmology. Along with his colleagues at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, in 2005, Dr. Ganiban was one of the first Retina Specialists in the U.S. to begin treating Macular Degeneration patients with intraocular Avastin, a cutting edge treatment that has improved the vision and lives of many patients who suffer from the “wet” form of Macular Degeneration.
Dr. Ganiban was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia, PA, where his father practiced internal medicine for over forty years. His wife, Patricia LaFleur, M.D., is also an Ophthalmologist, specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive eyelid surgery, Restylane Skin Treatments, and Botox Injections. The Ganibans have two sons and they regularly attend church. Although they have varied interests and commitments, the Ganibans make family time a top priority.
Dr. Ganiban makes time for tennis, swimming and competitive sports. He is a triathlete and has competed in seventeen marathons, including two Boston Marathons and four Florida Iron Man 70.3 mile events– a grueling endurance race where participants swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, and run 13.1 miles.
The Ganibans enjoy gourmet cooking – particularly French, Creole and Cajun cuisine. Dr. Ganiban is an avid reader of history books and fiction, and he is presently writing a medical/thriller novel, that he hopes to complete in the next couple of years.

Always response to questions and makes one comfortable. Top of his game.
I really think a lot of Dr. Ganiban , he is very caring and gentle . I have been going to him for at least 5 yrs. Highly recommend
Quick efficient professional
It was all good
Dr. Ganiban was wonderful as usual. I would like to comment, however, on the length of wait time. I was called in just about an hour past my appointment time. I would like to see a little more time efficiency. But this would not cause me to not see Dr. Ganiban, however.
Very courteous and knowledgeable staff
Wait too long. Too many appointments at the same time
Dr. Ganiban is a consummate physician is very personable, engaging, and knowledgeable.
Very nice staff. Our doctor introduced himself as Gary, a refreshing change from most experences. He explained the situation and gave guidance to involve our geriatric doctor so the help extended beyond eye health. Thank you.
I've been going to see Dr ganaban since I lost the site in one eye. He's the best. Highly recommended.
Love the convenience of the Merritt Island office and the reduced wait times. Also appreciate Dr. Ganiban's warm "bed side manner"
Dr Ganiban, is an excellent physician who explained a problematic diagnosis from my current doctor.
Short wait time. Office staff friendly and efficient. Dr.Ganiban is professional, personable , and explains diagnoses and options for treatment without pressure and gives ample opportunity for questions.
Dr Gary Ganiban has always been very professional, and courteous. He has always talked with me about my vision, and has always been very informative. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing visual care of any kind. John L Venice
Very professional and efficient office. Dr Ganiban diagnosed my glaucoma which had not been by my previous ophthalmologist…,
LOVE Dr. Ganaban and the staff of Atlantic Retina Consultants! These people are caring, knowledgeable, and friendly. The Merritt Island location is newly painted and updated AND service is MUCH faster than at the other offices.
Dr. Ganiban is always professional and courteous.
Always have positive experience with Dr Ganiban. The only negative is how long you have to wait. A two hour appointment seems a bit long for a 5 minute exam.
Personable. Knowledgeable. Did not feel rushed. Allowed time for questions. Felt very comfortable being under his care. Would recommend without hesitation.
Took 2 hours of my time and I could not get my eye shot. Had to make another appointment for a week away at another location.
Very thorough and answers all my questions
Friendly with calm demeanor, professional - and not bad to look at either! I really like the way he sees pt one day and does injections on a different day to speed up the time you spend in office. The wait was not long at all to get called back and the techs were efficient and personable
Great as always.
I called Monday morning because my eye was swollen and I wasn’t sure why and they got me in that morning at 10 o’clock and took care of everything so I was very pleased.
Great everyone was very nice to us
Everyone was friendly and efficient. I had very little wait time and the results of my visit were positive. Dr. Ganiban has always taken good care of my vision.
