Evan M. Berger, is an ophthalmologist specializing in Vitreoretinal Surgery addressing conditions that include macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and retinal detachments.
He received his undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Virginia. Dr. Berger attended Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) where he also completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology. He completed his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at West Virginia University Eye Institute. Dr. Berger, a fourth generation physician, was born and raised in Virginia Beach. He and his wife Dr. Katherine Berger, a pediatrician, enjoy raising their two daughters in the Hampton Roads area.
Dr. Berger is actively involved in the community, volunteering his time at the Lions Eye Clinic offering free eye care and expert subspecialty treatments to reduce blindness in the Hampton Roads Community.

I feel like I get first class attention and care from Dr. Berger. He takes the time to explain to me everything that is going on and what's he doing during my examination. He's also very kind and empathetic fully understanding the trauma and concern I experienced due to my retina detachment. He repaired my retina and thereby preserved my vision, and for that I am extremely thankful. I highly recommend Dr. Berger!

They have a good system going. Now instead of being called back 3 times the guy who does the first work also takes the pictures of the eye which saves time. I guess there was a hang up somewhere in the system because I was there 1.75 hours before Dr Berger got to me. Everyone is very courteous and helpful. Nice people to work with.
