About Erin Huggins, APRN, FNP-C

Erin Huggins, APRN, FNP-C, a Certified Nurse Practitioner and a long time Mchenry County resident joined Favia Primary Care in 2024, and provides care to residents, at both Algonquin and Crystal Lake offices. She diagnoses and treats acute and chronics conditions, performs Medicare Annual Wellness exams, and provides care based on individual's needs to live a better version of themselves.

Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, she was a licensed cosmetologist for 13 years and locally worked in the Mchenry County area.

Erin completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN, RN) at Chamberlain University in Addison, Illinois with Magna Cum Laude recognition. After receiving her BSN, RN, she worked at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford Illinois, on a  Neuro Trauma unit. Eventually, Erin made her way back to Mchenry County working at Centegra, now Northwestern Hospital, as a Charge Night shift RN on the psychiatric unit taking care of patients with mental illness, addictions, and behavioral health disorders. After working years of night shift, she stepped away from the hospital and continued working with the behavioral health team of Northwestern,  providing care to patients of all ages for all the psychiatrists and psychologists at multiple facilities in the northwest region.

While working at Northwestern, she attended graduate school at Chamberlain University where she graduated in 2021 receiving her Masters in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner AANP board certification.  Prior to joining Favia Primary Care, she formerly worked as an NP, performing various joint injections, PRP, medical weight loss, and certification in hormone pellet therapy.                

When Erin is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, kids, friends, traveling, attending concerts, rehabbing furniture, and motorcycling.
