Ellen Lin, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and pain management specialist at Advanced Spine and Pain Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Lin graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She then went on to complete her residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) with some of the top neurosurgeons, trauma surgeons, sports medicine and electromyography specialists, geriatricians, orthopedists, and internists.
Following her residency, she completed fellowship training at the UT Southwestern Medical Center and the UTHealth Houston. Her extensive training has given her the unique ability to empathize with her patients’ pain conditions.
She decided to pursue a career in PM&R because it allowed her to focus on restoring patients’ quality of life through all-encompassing treatment plans. With a strong emphasis on the patient’s unique health needs, Dr. Lin is able to develop comprehensive care plans that help them regain full function and improved well-being.
At Advanced Spine and Pain Center, Dr. Lin is excited to be a part of the team to deliver compassionate, patient-focused solutions to alleviate pain and help you thrive in your daily life. Outside of the office, she is an interventional pain management specialist at the Texas Center for Athletes.

After being called back to a room and after the nurse took my vitals, I was left in the room for over an hour before anyone came in. No one stuck their head in to explain why I was waiting so long or anything. I'm guessing it was the PA who finally came in. She asked me a series of questions and said Dr. Lin would be in soon. Over 20 minutes later, Dr. Lin came in. Dr. Lin didn't even TRY to look at my knee. I could tell that she was not happy that I refused to have anything invasive put in my knee. Because I was still having considerable pain in my left knee, she said she was going to call in a prescription for Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 10 325 but I only got 5 325.

Dr Lins office has been really great. Enrique always listens to my pain stories and is always willing to help. I will say the only really bad thing about this office is it takes FOREVER to get leave paperwork filled out and submitted. I’ve almost had employment issues because of it.
She is very caring and knowledgeable. I was in pain and was an "add on" and my needs were met.
I felt that the only thing that she was interested in was the new procedure she was pushing. She never listened to me. She came in so fast and left so fast without a dressing my concerns. She gave me a pamphlet and walk out. She did not give me and my husband time to say anything. She spent less than five minutes with us, and then sent someone else in to speak with us and my husband told her assistance that we are not interested in that surgery the only she said call me when you are and then she left. we felt very disrespected I will never go back to her, and I advise everyone to run !!
