About Elisa Hasrouni

We all sit in the driver seats of our lives, but sometimes it can be hard to juggle driving while reading the map, taking care of the passengers, and noticing the sidewalks. My role as a therapist is to sit beside you, picking up on the things that you are too focused to notice and follow your lead on your exploration and healing. Reaching out for help may feel scary and require a lot of courage and vulnerability, but it feels a bit better when we don’t have to face our challenges alone.

 

I believe mental health is a critical area that influences how people meet the demands of everyday life. I provide a supportive safe space, by building upon trust, honesty, and genuineness. Our work can look like problem solving, reasoning, exploring, investigating, reflecting, learning, or unlearning. I hope to facilitate and promote growth and healing so you can rediscover your strength, find balance, and improve life quality and overall health. I utilized an eclectic approach, integrating psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and relational-cultural theory, with a trauma informed and strength based perspective.

 

I received both my B.S. in Applied Psychology with a specialization in child and adolescent mental health and my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from New York University. I am bilingual in Mandarin and English; thus, clients who wish/need therapy in Mandarin are welcome!
