Edward Ramirez, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN, and infertility and fertility preservation specialist at The Fertility & Gynecology Center - Monterey Bay IVF. At his practice in Monterey, California, Dr. Ramirez is deeply committed to courteous, responsive, and personalized care.
Dr. Ramirez has a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy obtained simultaneously from the University of California at Irvine. A graduate of the Stanford University School of Medicine, he did his specialty training in OB/GYN at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. He received sub-specialty training in advanced reproductive technologies at the world-renowned Pacific Fertility Center with Dr. Geoffrey Sher, one of the first pioneers of IVF in the United States.
Dr. Ramirez is fluent in Spanish and Japanese. He is trained in advanced gynecologic surgical techniques and in the most up-to-date advanced reproductive technology.
The goal of Dr. Ramirez and his staff is to provide patients with the finest scientific, state-of-the-art fertility and gynecology care, along with nurturing intimacy, personalization, and compassion. Located in the beautiful and picturesque Monterey County, one hour south of San Jose, it is the only full-service IVF center on the California coast between San Jose and Santa Barbara. Dr. Ramirez was great. His explanation of the problems I am up against was so helpful and I truly appreciated his honesty and direction. We had a bad experience with the front desk person however. I wish I could remember her name. I called a day in advance to ensure my husband would be allowed during COVID and I was assured he would be welcome. However, when we arrived with our young child, he was told that he would have to wait in the car as children would not be allowed. I think it’s ridiculous that this was not mentioned on the website, when scheduling, or when I called the day previously. Infertility after having one child is not uncommon. I wish so much my husband could have been with me for the consult. Additionally, she also messed up my charges. She later corrected this, but was not happy to do so.
