I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dr. Douglas Glod, DPM, FACFAS, and I couldn’t be happier with the care I received. Dr. Glod was professional, knowledgeable, and straightforward, making sure I understood every step of my trShow moreeatment. His sense of humor helped ease my anxiety, especially since dealing with an ingrown toenail is a sensitive issue for me, both mentally and physically. Dr. Glod has performed three surgeries on my feet, all with excellent results. My feet were quite damaged from years of vigorous activity including classical dance and running. I had sought other opinions before coming to Dr. GlodShow more and was told that I would likely need amputation of toes and a cane for the remainder of my life. Dr. Glod surgically corrected the worst foot first. I have had the second foot corrected and am very pleased with the results. Dr. Glod is such a pleasant person and I really have enjoyed the care he has provided; he is highly skilled. His staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to help.
Douglas Glod, DPM, FACFAS, has been in private practice for over 30 years, specializing in all aspects of foot and ankle care. Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, he serves patients at Rhode Island Foot Care’s offices in Pawtucket and East Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Glod has lectured both nationally and internationally on various foot and ankle pathologies, authored several papers, and was also a co-investigator with a cooperative interdisciplinary podiatric geriatrics program at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. In addition, he is the Residency Director of the Podiatric Medical and Surgical Resident Program with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle at Kent Hospital.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Glod has further specialized in complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in addition to working with limb salvage in diabetic and high-risk patient populations. Using technologies like ringed external fixation, total ankle implants, and the latest in technology with internal fixation and ortho-biologics, he has been able to pioneer techniques in limb salvage that few in Rhode Island or in the New England area have ventured.
Dr. Glod previously served as the Chief of Podiatry, Director of Podiatric Residency, and Chair of Credentials Committee at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, as well as a clinical assistant professor at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is currently the Director of Podiatric Residency at Kent Hospital.
He holds hospital affiliations with Kent Hospital, The Miriam Hospital, Rhode Island Hospital, Roger Williams Medical Center, Landmark Medical Center, Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, and Saint Anne’s Hospital.
Dr. Glod is a member of the American Diabetes Association, American Podiatric Medical Association, and Rhode Island Podiatric Medical Association. He is also a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

I’ve always had a positive experience. I’ve had multiple surgical procedures that have all been successful. Dr. Glod has a great personality. He always explains everything in detail. His staff is also very pleasant and knowledgeable.

I loved Dr. GLOD! No, not God, but Glod! He explained everything he was going to do in detail for my ankle fusion and explained it so even i could understand! I never felt rushed with my appointments and he made me feel at ease with the whole procedure. His residents at Kent hospital were also very kind and treated me with respect. The receptionists and nurses at RIFC were also very kind and cordial.

I had 1:30 appointment and I didn't get seated until 2:00 I get to the doctor on MTM and I almost didn't have a ride home because I was late this doesn't happen all the time but it does happen every so often

I've been going to see Dr Good for about a year or more and he doesn't just trim my toenails you listen to my concerns about my feet. I was having pain in my right foot and he suggested a cortisone shot so I said go ahead and it works great I'm very happy with this doctor.

Dr Glod and his staff are all professional people. Dr Glod spends time with each patient he never rushes you. His experience is 2nd to none. I have recommended several friends to him. As with all doctors appointments you may wait a bit but trust me it is well worth the wait.
