Education has always been central for Dr. Starch. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. From there, he went on to complete a residency in the orthopaedic surgery department at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at Baylor Medical Center in Houston, Texas, allowed Dr. Starch to further refine his skills and knowledge. He is proud to be board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds an additional subspecialty certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Starch is also a proud member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Texas Orthopaedic Association, in addition to the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
Dr. Starch has a special interest in sports medicine, and his fellowship training focused on helping elite athletes recover from injuries and enhance their performance. He is proud to have worked as a team physician for the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Houston Rockets, and Houston Comets.
He is the head team physician for Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, and Director of Sports Medicine for 10 area high school athletic programs.
Dr. Starch enjoys working with everyone from fitness enthusiasts to patients recovering from a traumatic injury or surgical procedure. He likes the opportunity to perform orthopaedic care across the full spectrum of needs and finds his work deeply fulfilling.

I’ve been seeing Dr. starts now for about eight months he was not quick to recommend a knee replacement instead going though the proper therapy one step at a time and has proved to be an excellent solution. Highly recommend the staff and Dr. Starch.

Everyone in this office is professional and concerned with making sure the patient is taken care of well. They listen to, and address your concerns. They explain options and outcomes. Dr. Starch is genuinely concerned about his patients. He listens, explains why issues are happening the way they are, and explains what options there are available to help correct or make things better. He desires the patient to take an active role in their treatment plan. Dr. Starch is a man of integrity and high moral character.
