David H. Barad, MD, MS, FACOG, is an OB/GYN and reproductive endocrinologist serving patients at the Center for Human Reproduction in the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. Dr. Barad joined the practice in 2003.
He is a graduate of Rutgers Medical School and completed his residency in OB/GYN at the Sloane Hospital for Women in New York. Following his residency, Dr. Barad was accepted to the fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr. Barad is certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and also received subspecialty certification as a reproductive endocrinologist. Dr. Barad served as Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Currently, Dr. Barad is an Associate Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Director of Clinical ART, and senior scientist at the Center for Human Reproduction.
Dr. Barad has been increasingly active in clinical research. He served as an investigator at the New York Clinical Center of the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) on the landmark study examining factors that may affect the health of women after menopause. He is currently a scientific consultant for the WHI and was Chair of the WHI Hormone Trials advisory committee during the active phases of the study.
Dr. Barad has published extensively in the field of reproductive endocrinology. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and Society of Reproductive Endocrinology.
In May 2003, Dr. Barad was awarded a Masters of Science in Clinical Research Methods at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 1999, he was recognized by the American Infertility Association for his continuing dedication and support to individuals experiencing infertility.

My husband & I had an initial consultation with Dr. Barad, and were blown away by the time he spent with us & care he put into our conversation & next steps. For the first time in a long time on our infertility journey, it felt like someone actually heard us & our concerns. He's already suggested some new approaches we can take towards having a healthy pregnancy, that no other doctor ever mentioned, and we've been at this for years! The peace of mind & hope he offered alone were worth it. Would highly recommend.

My experience at CHR was nothing short of amazing. Dr. Barad is so kind, and knowledgeable. He makes you feel so important, and never like a number. The entire staff at CHR has got it figured out. Everyone has their jobs, and do them exquisitely. I loved getting to know all the front staff and nurses. Everyone is so sweet, and helpful. If only every fertility clinic was like this! CHR and everyone there will forever hold a special place in mine and my husbands hearts! <3

I am so glad I decided to pursue treatment with Dr. Barad. He’s one of the most caring and compassionate physicians I have ever encountered, and this is saying a lot because I am a physician myself. Too soon to test if I’m pregnant yet but I know he has helping me do everything possible to achieve my dream of having a baby. I cannot recommend him more highly!
The whole staff is attentive, supportive, and vested in a positive outcome for their patients. So glad I switched from my local clinic... it has still been a tough journey, but worth it!

Besides his great expertise and high scientific knowledge, Dr. Barad is compassionate, kind, patient. He supported me in the worst moment of taking the decision to transfer my poor quality embryos on Day 3 holding my hand and genuinely caring for my wellbeing. Because of the pandemic, I had to wait a couple of years before being treated at CHR - I definitely recommend Dr. Barad and hope to get his advise also in the next future.
