Craig H. Dushey, MD, is a highly skilled and highly trained orthopedic surgeon at Manhattan Orthopedics. Dr. Dushey completed his orthopedic training at Yale and his fellowship training at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He specializes in hip and knee surgery, primary and revision total joint replacements and treatments for sports injuries and arthritis. Dr. Dushey is strongly committed to patient education and provides customized treatment plans that respond to the specific needs and expectations of his patients. Dr. Dushey engages in both teaching and research and uses the most up-to-date techniques and technologies when treating his patients. Dr. Dushey received his undergraduate degree from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors. He completed his postdoctoral training in orthopedic surgery at the Yale Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Dushey then completed his fellowship training in adult reconstructive surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. In addition to serving his patients, Dr. Dushey helps train future physicians in New York City as an assistant clinical professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in Manhattan. He has published scientific papers on complex hip reconstructions, strategies to avoid blood clots after surgery, and rare genetic bone problems. He has won numerous awards and has been featured in the New York Times “Best Doctors” supplement. In his spare time, Dr. Dushey enjoys tennis, skiing, and film, as well as doing volunteer work. |

First time seeing Dr Dushey. I did have to wait a bit, but he was definitely worthy every minute. He explained everything while going over my X-ray, and answered my questions. Did not feel rushed. Very happy with Dr. Dushey

I have been under Dr Dushey 's care for about 4 years, and could not be happier with the care I received. I had two hip replacements, multiple cortisone and gel injections and constant support and encouragement. I also greatly enjoyed the fact that I did not have to deal with the insurance pre-authorisations, appeals and disputes, because everything was expertly handled by the office staff. Such a great help! Dr. Dushey and his office are the best!
The stay was not too long. we looked at the X-Rays talked about the knee ect.

Dr Dushey gave me a new hip a decade ago and recently I was having some pain in that area, so I made an appt. He and his staff are all so friendly and accommodating, as is Dr. D. It was good to see him again and find out there was no issue with my hip, only a hip muscle issue. My new xray looked identical to the old one showing the quality of his surgery. Thanks again to the Doc and his great staff. A shout out to Michael the xray tech! He will talk sports and memorabilia all day if work didn't get in the way. Bill A.

From the moment I enter the office I was treated with professionalism from the staff. Once with the Doctor, I was given a full examination. We reviewed my X-rays and discussed what his interpretation of them were. He eased my mind that my problem was relieved with rest. At the end of my exam, he said if any problems that I should feel safe in coming back again. I was extremely happy with his care.

Always informative and thorough
I have been under Dr Dushey's care since 2019. He did my first complete hip replacement in early 2020, and this hip has been completely functional and pain free ever since. Unfortunately, the osteoarthritis continues to advance, and Dr. Dushey continues treating my aching joints. He is not quick to operate and often suggests non-surgical methods first. His understanding, patience and expertise make this ordeal more manageable.

I was not happy that I lost a month with the Astoria office. I was pleased that Dr. Dushey ordered a cat scan and a referral to a vascular surgeon who finally diagnosed my swollen leg. The CT Scan revealed that the knee surgery was indeed quite successful.
