Dr. Cosette Jamieson of Metro Renal Associates in Washington, DC, is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. She received her medical degree from Howard University Medical School in 1986, and completed her residency and fellowship at Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. After a few years as a teaching practitioner on the Washington Hospital Center staff, Dr. Jamieson went into private practice, where she established a successful nephrology practice located in the District of Columbia . Her practice has grown to include 2 other physicians as Metro Renal Associates.
She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Fresenius Kidney Center in Capitol Heights, Maryland and Northwest Washington,DC where she directs their first stand-alone Home Dialysis center in the DMV area. She is passionate about the care she delivers to patients with renal disease. She specializes in hypertension and diabetes management as it relates to renal disease and encourages and cares for her patients who pursue renal transplantation. She is a strong advocate for wholistic health and aids in teaching cooking classes to empower and educate patients about the healing benefits of a healthy diet.
In addition to her private practice responsibilities, she maintains privileges at several area hospitals, including Washington Hospital Center, a division of MedStar Health; National rehabilitation Hospital; and White OakMedical Center. Dr. Jamieson still finds the time to assist the teaching staff for internal medicine residents and medical students at Washington Hospital Center and others. She serves on the medical board at Washington Hospital Center and is the Vice-President of the Medical Staff and board member at the National Rehabilitation Hospital. She also serves as a consultant to Fresenius Kidney Care as one of its Joint-Venture Board Members.
Dr. Jamieson’s excellence in teaching and patient care has awarded her recognition in The Washingtonian where she was voted one of the Top Nephrologists in the Metropolitan Washington, DC, area.

Staff is congenial, professional and efficient. Dr Jamieson is the best! She is thorough, takes the time to explain and answer all questions. Does not hesitate to make recommendations or referrals when appropriate and necessary. She listens, an important attribute when one’s health is concerned.
