About Cathy Brownell, CNM

Cathy was born and raised in Monroe, MIchigan, where she decided to work as a labor and delivery nurse to serve her community and she did so proudly for 20 years. Cathy enjoyed women's health so much and decided to further her career by receiving her master's degree from the University of Cincinnati in midwifery.

She sharpened her clinical skills at a high risk women's hospital in Detroit MI, and continued to serve her county as a nurse midwife for seven years. Her best friend and her decided to take the plunge and become Floridians officially to work with a great practice. She is looking forward to getting to know the community and being part of taking care of all of ob/gyn care needs.

She is a mother of 2 adult children ; Michaela, 25, and Dawson, 23, who remain in Michigan to finish their college degrees. In her spare time she loves to be outdoors, in the water or playing with her dogs, Riley, a German Shepard, Asher, a silver lab and Mama, a chihuahua jack russell mix who is a rescue. Cathy also love to go camping with friends and make memories. She's also been learning how to do woodworking. There is nothing better than looking at and enjoying her own creations.
