About Dr. Catherine Hansen, MD

Catherine Hansen MD is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with 25+ years of experience in private and academic practice, serving women at all ages and stages of life.  

Dr. Hansen completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology followed by a Masters of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University with a Strategic Leadership certification in Population and Reproductive Health Programming through the Bill and Melinda Gates Institute. She is credentialed in both the United States and Canada with specialty training and expertise in reproductive medicine, menopause, female sexual dysfunction and couple counseling.  

Dr. Hansen brings a diverse set of skills, experiences and credentials to women-centered care including programming in personal, professional and relationship coaching, community development, keynote speaking, and experiential workshops that focus on women’s health and wellbeing. In 2017, after realizing the positive impact of bringing women together to amplify and elevate each other’s brilliance, the Empowered Women’s Circle was founded as a global community that disrupts isolation and cultivates connection among female leaders.  

With a passion to help women live their most joy-filled and purpose-driven lives, Dr. Hansen understands the significance of building a family for many couples and the potential stressors involved in that fertility journey. Patient-centered, compassionate care, grounded in evidence and personalized to each person and couple, are the guiding principles that Dr. Hansen brings into each consultation and conversation with her patients.  

Married to Canadian Astronaut, Jeremy Hansen, the first Canadian to travel to the moon on Artemis II, they are blessed with three incredible children. The entire family enjoys outdoor life, quality time on the lake, and searching for satellites among the stars.
