With more than 40 years of experience working with women in all life stages, Carlos Cardenas, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist serving people in San Antonio, Texas. He provides a wide range of gynecology services, focusing on menopause management, preventive services and well-woman exams, and minimally invasive surgeries.
He completed an internship at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and his residency training at Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann Medical College) in Philadelphia. Dr. Cardenas is a co-founder of the Institute for Women’s Health, the largest OB/GYN and fertility practice in South Texas.
Dr. Cardenas is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, Texas Medical Association, and Bexar County Medical Society. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Methodist Ambulatory Surgical Center.

I really love that you don’t wait around. You are seen within 5 to 10 mins. Of your scheduled time. Dr. Cardenas and staff are so cordial with their patients and most important they listen to your health concerns and address them. This practice is exceptional.

First time visit they was super nice and knowledge, Dr and Nurse and the front desk. They were very friendly.
I decided to switch GYNs in the middle of waiting for biopsy results. Julianne was AMAZING! Contacted me every time she checked for the results. When the results finally came back, Dr. Cardenas was out for the day however Julianne called him and he came back! Keep in mind, I’d never met him before. He came back to the office and was soooo nice. Told me what the next steps were and everyone in the office mentioned how awesome the oncologist I’ll be seeing is. I’ve never felt more comfortable and confident of a decision to see a new doctor.

Love the doctor, but tried of being charged for each thing , $50 here and there $50 for coming in for test results, you need a refill for med you have to come in additional $50 and then of course your yearly is coming up in a few weeks $50 . I don’t get any more. I feel like I’m visiting this office every month
