Dr. Britton Frome, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializes in hand and microvascular surgery, complex trauma to the upper extremity, and soft tissue reconstruction. She has been a practicing orthopaedic surgeon for the past 18+ years and takes pride in giving her patients the best possible care. Dr. Frome loves to work on complex surgeries to help patients get back to their normal activities as quickly as possible.
She attended the University of Oregon and received her MS in General Science/Chemistry. She continued her education by attending MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree while being a part of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Frome then came back to Oregon to start residency at Oregon Health Science University (OHSU) in Orthpaedic Surgery. Once Dr. Frome completed her residency at OHSU, she began her fellowship at the Hand Center of San Antonio, Texas in Hand and Microvascular Surgery.
Following Dr. Frome’s completion of her fellowship, she once again moved back to Oregon to practice medicine in her home state of Oregon. This is when she joined Summit Orthopaedics. Dr. Frome has built her practice on working with challenging procedures in the upper extremities. Through her level of care and ability to tackle the most complex procedures, her reputation is second to none. Dr. Frome has been awarded the Portland Monthly Top Doctor honors for the last four times in the last 5 years (2018, 2020, 2021, 2022) for her excellence in care in Hand Surgeries.

She is a past President of the Oregon Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (OAOS), a member of Orthpaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and American Academy of Orthpaedic Surgeons, as well as certified by the American Board of Orthpaedic Surgery (ABOS). Dr. Frome has had the pleasure to present to her colleagues at several conferences and presentations, including being a guest speaker at the American Association of University Women, and the OHSU Department of Orthopaedics Grand Rounds. Dr. Frome has also been published in several publications like the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Surgical Clerkship Guide and the Journal of Hand Surgery.
Since Dr. Frome is from Oregon, she wanted to start her practice here in Portland to give back to her home state. Taking care of patients and working on complex injuries has always been her passion. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. Dr. Frome enjoys traveling, watching her kids play sports, baking, riding horses, and reading.
