Dr Kindl reviewed x-rays with me and did a show and tell with office prop and available materials to allow me to understand the surgical technique and materials used to stabilize the area after rShow moreemoval of the offending arthritic bone in my affected left hand/wrist. He was adamant regarding my physical regimen moving forward in order to protect the continued healing and stabilization of the surgical site. He approved my plans to make use of a local pool per gym membership. I felt like I was treated with medical tough love and intend to follow his instructions. Long live Dr Kindl.

Board-certified orthopedic shoulder surgeon, Brian Kindl, MD, brings more than a decade of experience in orthopedic surgery to New Orleans Orthopedic & Shoulder Institute, serving the men and women living in and around Metairie, Hammond and Slidell, Louisiana.
Dr. Kindl began his professional education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he earned his undergraduate and medical degree. During his time at LSU, Dr. Kindl swam on the varsity squad and won the title of Academic All-American.
Following graduation, Dr. Kindl completed an internship and residency. He continued his advanced training in orthopedic surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and the University of Alabama in Birmingham. While in Birmingham, Dr. Kindl trained under the world-renowned orthopedic physician, Dr. James Andrews.
Dr. Kindl subsequently completed a year-long fellowship in sports medicine at the non-profit education and research organization, Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond.
At his private practice, Dr. Kindl specializes in upper extremity and sports medicine surgical procedures. He’s also an orthopedic consultant for several professional, collegiate, and high school sports teams, including Hampden Sydney College in Hampden Sydney, Virginia, and the Washington Redskins of the National Football League.

His nurse, Brittany returned my phone call very quickly and answered all my questions and Ashley assisted in getting all my paperwork completed quickly for my work. They are excellent with communication. A patients first impression of any doctor is his/her staff. Although we are all wearing masks, I felt everyone was smiling, including his x-ray tech. Everyone deserves 10 stars for making me feel welcomed and comfortable during my visits. My surgical experience was a success because of his excellent staff.
