Best ortho surgeon! He kept me from making things worse. Had other orthopedic Drs say I needed surgery right away without giving any consideration to the consequences and impact on how it was attainable. They were ready for surgeShow morery that week due to the displacement! Speaking with Dr. Hamzavi, he mentioned that every case is unique and based on current research, the displacement is not the only factor. Dr. Hamzavi is thoughtful and asked the right questions to ensure all bases are covered which the other doctors did not. He welcomes other opinions if you decide to get one. There were several things I brought up during our appts and he was right there with answers not only from opinion but from results of current research. Guess what? As my sprained ankle was getting stronger, my broken one was healing. Ultimately, no surgery was required for my injury. Despite surgery as his profession, he was not quick to tell me I needed to 'go under the knife' as my previous consultants told me. All in all, if I were to ever need ortho services, I would seek him out first.
Today was my third appointment with Dr Hamzavi. Every time I leave I am reminded how grateful I am to have been referred to his practice. For the first time in years I am able to walk without pain. Dr Hamzavi takes his time to ansShow morewer my questions and explain things in a way I can understand. I never feel rushed here. The office staff are very welcoming and efficient. They never fail to send me a reminder about an upcoming appointment. I would never hesitate to refer them to a friend or family.
Brian Hamzavi, MD, is a New York-trained orthopaedic surgeon bringing a wealth of experience to Hammer Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Palm Bay, Florida.
Dr. Hamzavi began his medical journey with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. He later earned a master’s degree in medical science and medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Mt Sinai Hospital, formally know as St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York. Dr. Hamzavi also served as the orthopaedic surgery chief resident at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital. He has since specialized in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions, particularly those involving knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, wrist pain, hand pain, elbow pain, and back pain.
After residency in New York, Dr Hamzavi relocated to Florida to complete a sports medicine fellowship at the University of South Florida and Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa.
While in the Tampa Bay area, Dr. Hamzavi provided coverage of local high schools, the University of Tampa Soccer team, St. Leo University, the University of South Florida Football and Soccer teams, as well as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He welcomes patients of all ages, including younger pediatric patients.
In addition to conventional orthopaedic treatments, like minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Hamzavi specializes in advanced regenerative medicine techniques, including stem cells and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), offering innovative solutions for various musculoskeletal conditions.

It was my first appointment with him, I felt very comfortable. He listened and asked questions when I was finished. I really got a good vibe from him! Caring and compassionate for sure. Even when I told him I was self-pay, I could tell that I’m still gonna get good care and I can tell you from being self-pay for 20+ years that’s not a reaction I usually feel ! Usually I get the brush off and or lesser interest in my care.
Great personality
Dr. Hamzavi is an extremely good doctor, very professional, he repaired my rotator cuff, I had very little pain afterwards, and my recovery has been very good! What I like most about Dr. Hamzavi is he listens to all of your questions, and doesn’t rush through anything. I highly recommend him!

Very unfortunate and feel better today.
I was quite pleased with my first visit here. I was able to get seen fast and got some relief from the pain in my shoulder with the cortisone shot. He is following up in few weeks. If I still have symptoms he will order scans look at other options.

I was greeted by Ashley with a big smile. Dr Hamzavi manner was kind and understanding the pain I’m having with the knee. He is knowledgeable regarding stem cells in which that’s a plus. I recommend Dr. Hamzavi to all who needs that having knee problems.
