Dr. Pendley is uniquely qualified to diagnose, treat and follow those of us who are in his care. As a soon-to-be-octogenarian, it's important to me that my doctor knows my medical history: what problems I've had over the years, my successes, failures, downfalls and pitfalls, allergies and attitude, abilities and disabilities, which is to say things that go beyond what can be found on a medical chart, or discovered during a ten-minute, exam. It's only because he takes the time to talk to his patients that he knows these things: asking questions, taking in the answers and proceeding accordingly, with lab work when needed, and a follow-call, during which he explains what those tests reveal. Until I found Dr. Pendley, I never had a doctor who knew my name unless he (or she) looked at my chart before walking into the examining room. Dr. Pendley keeps his practice small, so that he knows all of us, which is amazing in itself. He asks questions, and delves deeper, taking it all in. What's more, he does his homework; reading up on all the latest medical advances, studies and developments - a quality that was invaluable to me during the COVID pandemic, when knowing what to do, and when, was so critical. Over the years, I learned that he was not only a physician, but an adjunct professor, with a PhD in Bio Medical Engineering, giving him a leg up when it comes to diagnosing conditions and diseases that others might miss. What’s more, aside from being an amazing physician, he is also a kind human being who cares about his patients. He saved my life once, on a Saturday morning in the middle of an icy deep freeze, when few physicians would have ventured out, let alone come to my rescue. And so, if I sound grateful, it's because I am. This past visit was my annual Medicare wellness check-up, and the good doctor took the time needed to go over every question with me, in addition to going over my medications, lab work, and general exam. Physician, adjunct professor, researcher and champion to those he serves, he is one in a million, and I am forever grateful that I am under his good care.
