About Barry Hardison, MD, FASAM

I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. While I continue to find fulfillment in treating medical diseases, addressing addiction has been profoundly rewarding. Addiction is a genuine disease with biochemical abnormalities in the brain, akin to medical conditions affecting the body. Through appropriate medications, therapy, case management, peer support, and a 12-step program, remarkable transformations can occur. It's crucial to reduce the stigma surrounding addiction so that those affected feel as comfortable seeking help as they would for any other medical issue. My mission is to educate and empower individuals with addiction to access effective treatment, enabling them to achieve the life they deserve—a dream they once thought unattainable.
