About Ashley Wheeler

Ashley Wheeler, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is one of the skilled providers serving patients at Florida Spine & Pain Specialists in Riverview and Tampa, Florida. 

Ashley completed her first undergraduate degree in pre-med at Drexel University in 2012. She then continued her education, earning a second bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Pennsylvania State University in 2014.

As a registered nurse, Ashley had experience in the emergency room and medical-surgical floor and ultimately spent the majority of her career as a registered nurse in home health care as a case manager. She then continued her education by earning her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in family medicine in 2019. After graduating, Ashley began her nurse practitioner experience in primary care and eventually ventured into the world of bio-identical hormone replacement. Around the same time, Ashley joined Dr. Azeem’s team and now works primarily in interventional spine and pain management.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family, going to the gym, and visiting the beach.

Philosophy

Unless you have experienced chronic pain in your lifetime, it is difficult to comprehend the debilitating toll that it has on regular, daily routines, and emotional well-being. It is my belief that by taking the time to listen to our patients thoroughly, we can develop an efficient, individualized plan of care that not only improves the patients quality of life and pain level, but also helps to build trusting patient relationships.
