Dr. Sanderson earned her bachelor’s degree in zoology with the highest distinction from The University of New Hampshire, Durham. She then graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, followed by a rigorous otolaryngology residency program at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California. To further enhance her skills, she completed a specialized fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Irvine.
With over 25 years of surgical experience, Dr. Sanderson remains at the forefront of her field by constantly pursuing continuing education and staying current with the latest advancements in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery. Her dedication also extends to her service in the United States Navy, where she spent two decades in various medical roles. Notably, from 2000-2002, she served as the General Medical Officer for Marine Corps operations during Iraqi Freedom in Miramar, California.
Recognized as one of the leading physicians in her specialty, Dr. Sanderson was honored to serve as the otolaryngology physician consultant to the White House from 2013-2018. Her exceptional contributions were acknowledged when she was named the White House Consultant of the Year in 2017.
