Dr. Ma was born and raised in Southern California, so it was natural for him to receive his bachelor of science degree at the University of California, Irvine. From there, he went to the Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO) in Fullerton, California, where he graduated cum laude. During his education at SCCO, he worked a diverse externship schedule including the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, the Veterans Affair Health Clinic in Las Vegas, and the Wellish Vision Institute in Las Vegas.
Aside from his deep dedication to caring for patients’ eyes, Dr. Ma spends his free time cycling, running, snowboarding, and playing with his two dogs. He also speaks Vietnamese and clinical Spanish.
