About Us

Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology in Stamford, Connecticut, provides personalized dermatology care in a small practice setting. Led by board-certified dermatologist Samuel L. Gettler, MD, the practice provides care for patients of all ages including young children.

Dr. Gettler, as a board-certified dermatologist, specializes in treating all diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. At the practice, common and rare skin conditions are treated on a regular basis and every patient is provided the standard of care treatment with a patient-focused model of care.

Dr. Gettler provides services for skin conditions including full-body skin examinations for skin cancer identification, treatment of skin cancer, removal of skin growths including warts, molluscum, and skin tags, and the treatment of common and rare skin conditions, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis (eczema), acne, rosacea, alopecia (hair loss) including scarring forms of alopecia, and botulinum toxin (Botox) for hyperhidrosis (increased underarm sweating).

Dr. Gettler also offers complimentary cosmetic services including Xeomin injections for facial wrinkles, sclerotherapy for removal of leg veins, and acid peels for the treatment of wrinkles, sun damage, melasma, acne scarring, and other uses.

A Connecticut native, Dr. Gettler graduated from Joel Barlow High School in Redding before earning his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

He returned to his home state for medical school, earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. Dr. Gettler completed his dermatology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.

Dr. Gettler opened Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology in 2006 to provide dermatology services to the greater Stamford community, including Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, and beyond.

Dr. Gettler resides in Wilton, Connecticut, with his wife and three children.

At Advanced Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology, all patients are seen and cared for by Dr. Gettler. The practice accepts almost all major insurance plans and Medicare, plus accommodates cash-paying patients with fair fees, providing services at the lowest possible cost.
