Dr. Monson was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois, as the youngest of six children. He grew up a competitor and loved playing sports. After sustaining a season-ending injury in football, he realized he wanted to enter the healthcare industry to help heal people and get them back to playing sports. Dr. Monson began exploring medical careers while attending college and discovered podiatry after a volleyball-related injury. Dr. Monson fell in love with the profession and quickly learned he could combine his love of sports with medicine and began working towards that goal.
