Brian Burkardt, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon with over 18 years of experience at Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in Commerce Township and South Lyon, Michigan. Dr. Burkardt is a Michigan native originally from Monroe, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science from Siena Heights University in 1999. He graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 2003 with honors. Dr. Burkardt then went on to complete an extensive three-year surgical residency at Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital, formerly Kern Hospital. Dr. Burkardt joined Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in 2006. He is currently on staff at Huron Valley Sinai-DMC and Beaumont Royal Oak. In 2004, Rafi's family moved to Michigan, United States, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start.
Driven by his intellectual curiosity and desire to make a difference, Rafi pursued higher education. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University. Fueling his ambition further, Rafi went on to achieve a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2020. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Rafi completed a rigorous three-year podiatric surgical residency program, specializing in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle training at Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan.
