Dr. Milana Turner, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon who provides skilled foot and ankle care at Oakland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Clarkston, Michigan.
Dr. Turner treats foot pain, ankle pain, and injuries both conservatively and surgically. She is an expert and extremely passionate about diabetic limb salvage and wound care. She went on to complete her surgical residency at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Her residency training focused on the reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery.
Alongside her podiatry practice at Oakland Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Turner currently serves on the hospital and teaching staff at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital, and McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Additionally, she is on staff at Sparrow Wound and Hyperbaric Clinic in Lansing, Michigan.
Dr. Turner was born in Riga, Latvia, and grew up in Michigan. She speaks both Russian and English fluently. During her downtime, she loves to cheer on the Spartans, travel, play tennis, and spend time with her family and friends.

Brian Burkardt, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon with over 18 years of experience at Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in Commerce Township and South Lyon, Michigan. Dr. Burkardt is a Michigan native originally from Monroe, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science from Siena Heights University in 1999. Born in Syria, Rafi's journey is marked by determination, academic excellence, and a deep-rooted passion for helping others. His early years were shaped by a supportive and close-knit family community. His mother, a mathematics teacher, and his father, a skilled craftsman and sign maker, instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication. In 2004, Rafi's family moved to Michigan, United States, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start.
Driven by his intellectual curiosity and desire to make a difference, Rafi pursued higher education. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University. Fueling his ambition further, Rafi went on to achieve a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2020. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Rafi completed a rigorous three-year podiatric surgical residency program, specializing in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle training at Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan. This additional credential further fortified his expertise in diagnosing and treating various foot and ankle pathologies.
Throughout his academic journey, Rafi's leadership qualities and commitment to his profession shone brightly.
