Meet James W. Ratcliff, DPM
Dr. Ratcliff asks the right questions so he can quickly diagnose foot and ankle injuries and prevent further issues. He is one of the few podiatrists in the Bay Area who offers cutting-edge treatments and techniques, including ShockWave/EPAT and Swift Microwave treatments. His goal is to get you up and running as quickly as possible.
James W. Ratcliff, DPM, is a caring and compassionate podiatrist who sees patients at his office in Los Gatos, California.
What sets Dr. Ratcliff apart from others is his keen ability to ask patients the right questions to correctly diagnose foot and ankle injuries. He devotes time and care in taking a patient’s detailed history. This crucial information enables Dr. Ratcliff to correctly diagnose what caused an injury and how to prevent issues in the future. Dr. Ratcliff believes this quality of care is best practice and aids in a patient’s speedy recovery. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to rapid recovery, and he strives to get his patients "up and running" as quickly as possible.
Dr. Ratcliff is also one of the few podiatrists in the Bay Area to offer cutting-edge medical treatments, including Shockwave (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology) for plantar fasciitis and SWIFT microwave therapy for warts.
An avid runner and triathlete for 30+ years, Dr. Ratcliff specializes in running-related injuries. He completed the California Ironman in 2000 and has run several marathons, including Boston and New York. Dr. Ratcliff has suffered many of the common overuse injuries he treats daily. He takes a whole-body approach to foot and ankle health, and gladly provides nutrition, exercise, and footwear suggestions for his patients.
Dr. Ratcliff maintains membership with the American Podiatric Medical Association, California Podiatric Medical Association, American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, and Silicon Valley Podiatric Medical Society. He is on staff with the Podiatry Services Department at Stanford Hospital. He is also affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital, Silicon Valley Surgery Center, Waverly Surgery Center, and Bascom Surgery Center.
A Los Gatos native, Dr. Ratcliff received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1991.
