Dr Michael has always had a passion for the function of the lower extremity. As a highly competitive athlete he has been driven to explore the many functions of the foot and ankle and what makes us function efficiently and pain free. To specialize his medical training in Podiatry was a natural fit. He loves helping his patients meet their goals of maximum enjoyment of their favorite activities whether it be a walk through Forest Park or climbing Mt Hood and beyond.
Practicing for 30 years, Dr Michael brings a wealth of experience to the Broadway Foot and Ankle Clinic. He is Board Certified in Foot Surgery as well as Rearfoot Reconstruction and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is also Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine and Orthopedics by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
He is the Founder of the Legacy Portland/ Kaiser Residency training program in Foot and Ankle Surgery. As Residency Director for close to 20 years, he developed the program to national prominence known for its excellence in residency training. Dr Michael also headed the Tuality Hospital Wound Care Clinic from 2014-2018 specializing in Diabetic foot care and Trauma. He has a passion for education and continues to be actively involved in residency training.
Dr Michael loves spending time running the many trails that surround Portland. He was the East Coast Conference Champion in 3 miles while attending Lehigh University (also known for Trail Blazers’ CJ McCollum) and was Oregon State Games Masters Champion in 1500 meters. He loves backcountry skiing, mountain climbing as well as cycling.
With her dedication to patient care and her expertise as a board-certified podiatrist, Gina Bullock, DPM, is a trusted expert in treating all types of foot and ankle ailments. Dr. Bullock is the owner of Broadway Foot and Ankle Clinic, located in Portland, Oregon.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts in English from San Francisco State University, Dr. Bullock attended graduate school. She went on to earn her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine (now part of Samuel Merritt University) in San Francisco.
Dr. Bullock then completed a comprehensive three-year podiatric residency program. She gained extensive experience training at Portland, Oregon’s Legacy Holladay Park Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Northwest, as well as the former Northern California Center for the Diabetic and Insensate Foot in San Francisco.
To make sure she’s always in-the-know with the latest advancements in podiatric medicine, Dr. Bullock maintains her board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. She also has extensive research experience in diabetic limb salvage, diabetic foot care, and joint disorders, such as Charcot foot. Her pursuit of medical academic excellence has even earned her a nomination for Portland’s Monthly Top Doctor.
Dr. Bullock holds affiliations with several state-of-the-art Portland-area hospitals. She cares for patients at East Portland Surgery Center, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, First Providence Portland, and Providence Plaza Surgical Center, to name a few.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Bullock enjoys staying active in the great outdoors. She spends time hiking and running as much as possible.
Stephen Schroeder, DPM, FACS, is an experienced orthopedic surgeon with the team at Sports Medicine Oregon, serving patients in Wilsonville and Tigard, Oregon. Dr. Schroeder is board certified in reconstructive rearfoot, ankle surgery, and foot surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Schroeder completed his undergraduate degree at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California, and his medical degree at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, California. He received training in reconstructive podiatric foot and ankle surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut. As a result of his specialized training, Dr. Schroeder also treats pediatric patients of all types. He is experienced in congenital problems, including club feet, in-toeing, flat feet, and toe walking, as well as cartilege restoration and flat foot deformities. Child athletes face specific challenges, and Dr. Schroeder is understanding and skilled in dealing with their concerns.
Dr. Schroeder believes in personalizing his approach to each patient in order to achieve a full and early return to activities and function. He utilizes appropriate intervention and emphasizes education, involving the patient in the decision-making, treatment, and healing process.
In addition to treating general foot and ankle problems, Dr. Schroeder has a special interest in treating sports-related injuries, complex limb deformity, chronic pain from arthritic conditions, and limb-threatening diseases associated with diabetes. He offers the latest advanced arthroscopic procedures and total ankle replacement for arthritis of the ankle. Dr. Schroeder was one of the first surgeons in the Portland Metro area to be approved to use the most modern and advanced ankle replacement system in the United States, STAR™.
Outside of the office, Dr. Schroeder is involved in research, education, and lecturing nationally. He has also published numerous articles and contributed chapters to medical textbooks. Schroeder enjoys the outdoor adventures the Pacific Northwest has to offer, including golf, cycling, skiing, running, hiking with his dogs, and traveling with his family.
