Dr. Monson was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois, as the youngest of six children. He grew up a competitor and loved playing sports. After sustaining a season-ending injury in football, he realized he wanted to enter the healthcare industry to help heal people and get them back to playing sports. Dr. Monson began exploring medical careers while attending college and discovered podiatry after a volleyball-related injury. Dr. Monson fell in love with the profession and quickly learned he could combine his love of sports with medicine and began working towards that goal.
While attending university, Dr. Monson decided to spend two years with the people of Puerto Rico and the West Indies. He became fluent in Spanish and grew to love Hispanic food and culture there.
Upon returning from the Caribbean, Dr. Monson attended Brigham Young University and received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Kinesiology with a minor in Spanish. Dr. Monson then went on to earn his doctorate in podiatric medicine from Barry University in Miami, where he had the privilege of working side by side with the University of Miami and the Jackson Healthcare system. Once he graduated, Dr. Monson accepted a surgical residency at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood and moved to The Woodlands, Texas, with his family. His surgical residency specialized in foot and ankle surgery and medicine. He received excellent training from multiple institutions, including Memorial Hermann, Baylor College of Medicine, and the HCA Healthcare system, where he specialized in wound care and the diabetic foot, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, trauma, and Charcot neuropathy and reconstruction.
Dr. Monson is happy to call Houston his home and is dedicated to giving back to the community. Dr. Dhukani was born in Los Angeles, California, but moved to Houston, Texas, when she was very young. Growing up in The Woodlands, she attended The Woodlands High School. She first came across podiatry after visiting her family friend’s practice. Her mentor guided her to podiatry and helped her realize her passion for helping people.
Dr. Dhukani moved to Atlanta, Georgia, to start her undergraduate adventure at Emory University. She graduated with a major in psychology and a minor in Arabic. Still fascinated and passionate about the field of podiatry, Dr. Dhukani moved to Cleveland, Ohio, to pursue her medical school education at Kent State School of Podiatric Medicine.
After she graduated, Dr. Dhukani moved back to her hometown and completed a three-year surgical residency in Houston, Texas, while training under various doctors in the greater Houston area. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Dr. Vaclaw grew up playing and loving sports. He always knew he wanted to be in the healthcare industry, and while attending college, he became more familiar with podiatry. Dr. Vaclaw realized he could integrate his love for sports and athletics into a medical career and began the path toward becoming a foot and ankle specialist. Before leaving Oklahoma for college, Dr. Vaclaw had the unique opportunity to live in Mexico City, Mexico, for two years, where he became fluent in Spanish and developed a strong connection with Mexican culture.

Dr. Laura Woodcox graduated from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, now called Rosalind Medical Center, in Chicago in 1996. She completed a three year surgical residency at the Houston Podiatric Foundation in Houston, Texas and has been practicing in Houston since 1999. Prior to attending Dr. Scholl’s Podiatry School, she attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where she was a cheerleader from 1985-1989 and is compassionate about sports medicine and assisting athletes in returning to their sport after an injury.
In addition to sports medicine, she focuses on preventive foot care with compassion and care. When not practicing podiatry, Dr. Woodcox enjoys skiing, scuba diving, traveling and spending time with her family and her dogs.
